Posted - 13/09/2010 : 18:45:33 Had a bit of an issue with my nieces exo-terra viv. Opened the door to see if Medusa wanted to come out and she came over to the open door as usual, then 'bang' she goes for the hinge side of the door and gets her head and about 4-5 inches of body through the half inch gap. So at this point I'm starting to panic a bit called my hubby over but he could only support her while I kept the door still. She managed to squeeze herself out of the gap but we had a bit of a sweat until the biggest part went through. Anyone else had similar problems |

Yes, you were meant to take the lid off and clip them in hehe never mind we all have our blonde moments |

Posted - 14/09/2010 : 07:38:29 Snake has done this several times but he just backs out when he realises he can't fit through. I now open the doors all the way as this makes the gap far too small for him. So not a problem now he is grown up ! |

Posted - 13/09/2010 : 22:26:20 my day geckos are in an E-T viv and all the wires fit through fine, i've even got a pipe running through for the misting system with no problems whatsoever
but the doors, mmmmm, always worried about escapees or trapped feet |

I have one of these for the cresties, i dont have a problem with the doors, but the wire holes are far to small, they aren't big enough for a stat wire, never mind a thermometer or stat probe. So i just ended up putting a hole in the mesh.
That's weird...My stat wire fits, did you try to clip it in? |

Posted - 13/09/2010 : 19:28:30 Haha this is really weird, because my corn did exactly the same thing today Luckily, he was just thin enough to get all the way through
I think to stop it happening, I just wont ever let him climb out his self, I'll pick him up like I usually do
and I agree with it being so shoddy. I've had it 4 weeks, and day by day I'm growing to dislike it more and more :\ |

Posted - 13/09/2010 : 18:51:30 my king snake decided to do a similar thing a few weeks ago - my mum was poking his head back in as there was no chance he could get his hole body through the gap! think its just something you need to watch out for with those doors - i dont really think theres anything you can do to stop it from happening again =/ |
