hi there, i have an amel corn who is about 2 years old, he is now 4ft 5in long.

can someone tell me what size viv is needed? he is currently in an exo terra 60x45x45 with front opening doors and although it is a fantastic viv i think he is too long for it!

also one other question, he has always been a great eater and shedder, every single shed has been intact, and i have been feed him large mice but feel these are too small for him so i have bought small rats! but i have just read that these shouldnt be fed regularly as are very high in fat, opinions please??

thank you in advance for any advice!

i have adults that size and weight so i'd be inclined to slow down the feeding a little as his weight gain is rather rapid..........a large or XL mouse every 10-14 days but monitor for him losing weight and adjust your feeding accordingly

Small rats are too big, i'd be surprised if he even got it down!!
Large mice are plenty big enough, and to be fair, if he's 4.5ft at 2 years then he's been a little overfed, what's his weight by chance? A 3ft viv would be ideal for him now though.

Hiya Fidgetsmum and welcome to the forum
The ET viv that you've got is a bit small, yes. Ideally he'd be in something about 36x18x18 at least by now.
As for the feeding, you should be able to get some jumbo or XL mice, depending on your local rep shop depends on what they call them, although at that size feeds every 10-14 days would also be suitable for him.
I'm assuming you got him off someone else as well, because nearly 4 and a half feet is quite a big size for a 2 year old.
