have you tested the packaged thermometer against a seperate digital one?
is it accurate?

I have that stat and have tested it to be fairly accurate, +/- 0.5 usually.

I have a Habistat Pulse Proportional Thermostat on Tangos viv and its great and not too overally expensive (you can get it from a couple of sellers on Ebay for £34 with free postage).

I will be going for the Habistat Dimming Thermostat when i set my vivs up as these are the ones for heat lamps for 40watts or over.
I like the lucky reptile one as well as posted above.

Digital thermometers are the way to go, as for stats you can get either a matstat (on/off) or a pulse stat. The pulse stat is better as it maintains the temps slightly better but is that bit more expensive.

thanks... so which make or model should i go for? i don't mind price too much.. i like to get the right thing first time round if you see what i mean lol....
