Posted - 03/09/2010 : 11:57:51 i have seen this question answered on a previous post but i cant find it. i have searched a few times but cant find it so...
i know all snakes are different but on average, when do you change from 1 pinky to 2? pinky to fuzzy etc
i mean like: after 3 months - 1 pinky to 2 after 6 months - 2 pinkies to 1 fuzzy after 1 year..... etc
i know the 1.5 times snake girth rule but i remember seeing something like this a few months ago and i think it is a good rough guide. |

Posted - 04/09/2010 : 16:52:00 According to that guide my Casper and Reggie should be about to make the move from hoppers upto weaned mice. But in actual fact Reggie(91g) is currently taking a fuzzy around 10g and about to make the move upto hoppers and Casper (83g) is on 7-8g fuzzies.
Both still have a decent sized bump after feeding.
The only "Guide" I will ever stick to is feeding my corns a prey item which is around the same girth and no bigger than 1.5x the girth of the snake in question. |

Posted - 04/09/2010 : 14:25:02 To be honest, any feeding guide is just that, you should be able to look at the snake and see that it can handle a larger mouse. I have never used and never will use any kind of feeding guide. |

If your snake is between 0-9 months old feed an appropriately sized* item every 5 days. If your snake is between 9-12 months feed an appropriately sized* item every 6 days. If your snake is between 1-3 years feed it an appropriately sized* item every 10 days If your snake is over 3 years feed it an appropriately sized* item every 14 days.
ooops! i don't agree with that guide either as females tend to have a higher metabolism i feed them weekly........ |

It depends on the weight of the snake, here is the guide to help you.
When they're on single pinks (2-3g), I feed every 5-6 days. (Snake = 4-15g) -Double pinks (3g x 2) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 16-23g) -Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 6-7 days. (Snake = 24-30g) -Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g) -Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g) -Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g) -Adult (20-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)
This was sent to me now i will pass this on to you lol.
Hope this helps
