Posted - 01/09/2010 : 09:54:17 Morning everyone
I've been sent some more hatchling pics this morning from the Bloodred breeder and I'm down to four that I like, three girls and one boy. They are lovely but I just can't choose one out of the four (and I can't afford four lol), so I thought I'd see what you lot would choose if it was choice and you were getting one.
Here are five pics of the four Bloodred Hatchlings, the last two pics are of the same hatchling but are different pics:-
Female 01a
Male 02a
Female 03a
Female 05a - first pic
Female 05a - second pic
So what do you think of them, out of the four which one would you go for? This would really help me to see which one is the most popular for the people that choose.
Thanks a lot guys. |

Posted - 02/09/2010 : 18:09:01 the main trait of a diffused cornsnake is the lateral pattern 'disappears' from the bottom and gradually blends into view higher up. The more of this diffusion the better. Bloodred is selectively bred diffused for a deep red colour (which none of these look like they will get )
The head also gets a diffusion to the pattern, with the colour being replaced by grey - the more grey (the more 'bald') the better :) |

I find no.1 very similar to no.5, but I don't know a lot about the genetics etc, I just know that I like the Bloodred colour hence why I wanted one. Btw no.1 and no.5 are from the same parents whereas the other two were from different parents.

Posted - 01/09/2010 : 18:51:41 female 01a for sure is my choice - she shows the best diffusion of them all and a nice bald head so will grow up to be a real beauty :) |

Posted - 01/09/2010 : 18:32:42 Ryanred5 it shouldn't matter which one we prefer... Wel pick wether you would like a male or a female more if male there you go if female you just narrowed down the choice...if you like them all it won't matter which one you are left with |

Posted - 01/09/2010 : 16:57:34 Hmm, names. Well if I have to chose a name I got onto the baby names website and look through names (some people call babies stupid names that I would only name my pets) just to get some ideas, although I usually choose something completely different it just sparks the imagination. You dont have to tell me Im a loser cause I already know that! :P Tiffany-x |

Posted - 01/09/2010 : 16:24:59 I think the one you have chosen is gorgeous. I couldn't say why, maybe it's a combination of the colours and markings that makes it more pleasing to the eye.
I would say bring her home in a small tub. |

I appologise to everyone for my rambling in every post btw, I could talk for ever about nothing if you didnt already notice. :D Tiffany-x
Hi Tiffany
I'm the same, I can talk for England lol.
I loved the pattern and the colour of no. 5 hence why I chose her, I've got to chose a name now, that will be fun, what do you think?
I can't wait to pick her up, but then I've got to wait a week to start handling her arrgh. I'll make sure I get a quick handle of her before she goes in the faunarium for the week.
When I go to pick her up, do you think bringing her home in the faunarium will be okay (the journey is about an hour) or do you think a smaller hatchling box will be better (I've got one from having Tango)? |
