I currently feed mine rat pups, i just feed her every 8-9 days rather than every 6 days like i did with fuzzies

I've heard the same. Mice for corns, and don't feed rats or they'll get addicted, but rats for royals and don't feed mice or they'll get addicted ... I did used to think rats were supposed to be more nutritious for corns because I'd been reading up on the royal forum.

I have yet to start my royal on rats. Wish me luck. I know someone whose son used to have a 6ft corn snake (died of old age) and he really disliked rats. Sounds like he did pretty well on a diet of mouse!

I think most of us on here tend to feed mice. Rats are ok but they do have a higher fat content.

Mice, Im led to believe that although rats have more nutrients or something they also have more fat so can make a fat snake, they are good to feed every once in a while but this can lead to your snake refusing to eat its mice in future. Im not so sure how accurate this is but I THINK thats how it goes. Hopefully in a moment someone who knows a little more can help you.
