is this big as an adult is likely to need? i dont want to have to upgrade to a larger viv. it measures 915x405x375mm (w.h.d)

i know the vx36 is a little deeper and taller but i dont really want to go furter than 40cm high.

It is a flexible rule, some people will stick to it like glue, others, like myself wont, put a 4ft snake in a 3x2x2 which is what i have, and you will see the snake is more or less lost in there!

Remember, like someone once said on here, in the wild, they dont have a viv they have the world!

I've heard that said but don't think it was on this site, and if it was i imagine it was a pretty well discussed topic because i don't think anybody on here would agree that a 3ft viv is great for a hatchling.

It probably was said, and whoever said it is wrong. It bears absolutely no comparison to Viv size.
Check out a Corns natural habits, you will find that it does not do much in the way of exploring in the wild, they look for food, and look for shelter, safety.
snakes to not regularly frequent areas that are very open, for the exact reason that they dont like large open vivs, insecurity.
Having plenty of hides is fine, but it doesnt always solve the problem.

As a rule, a 3ft viv is too big for anything below about 3ft, for an adult its fine, even a 5ft adult, even a 6ft adult would be fine.

Size isnt as important as people think. (so i am told anyway)

I use the LX36 and it seems perfect. Unless the snakies grow longer than 4ft, im sure you will be happy with it!
