I have 4 hatchling corns now, after the many weeks of thinking they were infertile lol but one of the little... darlings... is a cheeky little beggar! He's got a right attitude problem haha, but it's starting to become an issue... Every time he bites me, I jump, I can't help it, and I can't handle him cos of it.. I know it's me that's the problem and I need to stop being so jumpy, but I wondered if any of you guys knew how I could either stop being so jumpy hehe or stop him biting.. Whats the best option?? I've been told to just let him bite me, but I'm scared that he'll bite me, I'll jump and I'll hurt him or loose him any ideas people? It's annoying me so much cos it's me that's the problem, not the snake! grrrrrrrr x

I have the same issue with my little one, Ember never tried to bite me and now that she's bigger I'm used to her moreso than a little snakey lol. I know it won't hurt, but I've not been bitten yet so I have yet to be a part of the Tagged Team lol. I'm just going to man up and handle it when the settle in week is over, which is tomorrow. So I'll let you know how the ordeal goes for me =P

ah stotty that's an idea... it's just that it ain't the bite that I don't like, it's the quick movement.. I've been bitten by my adult corns loads, but they're slow and don't make me jump, it's just the hatchies are so quick! Not used to em haha! I'll put something in with him for a bit, and hopefully he'll get used to my scent, then I'll just have top man up a bit hehe

They must have some big teeth cause i had a hatchling keep biting me the other day and tbh i only knew he was biting me because i was watching him.

As has been said put some gloves with your scent on in the tub, everytime you want to handle it put the gloves on first, then they'll be familiar with the gloves so all should be good. Also, try to stay as calm as you can...just remember, they cant hurt you....

Good luck.

Blimey, I wouldn't subject any of my snakes to my socks!

Stotty01's right though - I kept a bit of cloth in my sleeve for a day and then put it in with my (timid??!!!) royal to get him used to the smell of my hands before I handled.

first off its a hatchie so it wont be used to human contact :/ my advice is wear a something on you for a day like a sock take it off and put it in the viv and leave him for a couple of days then take him out slowly, trust me it worked with my little one and now she is cool as a cucumber :)

Congrats on the babies :)

The easiest thing i can think of is to wear gloves!
If he does bite it will not hurt and once he gets used to the contact he should calm down a bit
