in my 2 boys viv's the probs lay horizontle touching the heat mat, but, with a fawn the heat mat is underneath witha very small gap so dose the prob sit outside on the mat or inside the fawn on the flor.
only coz with the gap wouldnt there be a diff in temp ?

i would tape the probE to the heatmat also.

As above, it doesnt matter. Personaly I tape the probe directly to the heat mat as its one less thing for the snake to move.

Either, aslong as your measuring the temps with a digi therm inside the faun it dosn't matter.
