hi
i have a heat mat which i use on thw outside of the faunarium to test to see if that and the thermometer and stuff works which it does but im worried about the base of the fauarium i started to take stuff out and i noticed that the base was more flexable at the warm end then at the cool end is this something to worry about i brought the faunarium coz my viv will be to big for my hatchling

the hrat mat is 7inch by 12 inch and the wattage is 8.5 is this to much

37.5c is your core temperature, your hands are actually usually cooler than this.

The heat has caused the bottom to rise a little so now you can push it down and it pops back up but other than that its totally fine.

dannybrown91 is the base of yours damaged once it cooled down the base went more solid again i hope mine will last i paid a lot for the starter kitt it came with

I've noticed this with my fauns over time so i guess it happens to them all, it may have just happened a little faster for you because you were running an unstatted mat.

yes i do but as of yet im waiting for my digital thermometer to come i ordered it last week i have a liquid crystal strip thermometer which i know is not really that reliable

wattage is in relation to the size of the mat, it's fine. Do you have a stat?
