I was looking at websites which states this is an accurate thermostat but what heat mat does it connect too? I have a microclimate at the moment. Would i need to by a habistat heat mat?

the brand of heat mat doesn't matter, they all do the same job :)

Well I have two habistat on/off stats and so far they have been accurate although saying that I have had three habistats go wrong on me before i ended up with these two. In any case pulse proportional stats should be more accurate than an on off stat.

You plug the heatmat into the stat, it has like a plug socket you put it into. Any heatmat should be fine with any stat :)
