I was wondering if you can use duck tape to cover the heat mat so the snake doesn't burn himself? If i can use the tape do i cover the heat mat probe and digi thermometer sensor to ensure they are secure and will that ensure accurate readings? or do i stick them on top of the mat and tape (If i can use tape!)

Aspen shouldnt cause your snake any problems, and tape should be avoided.

My mat isn't fixed, but have heard of people using silicone around the edges and on the probes too, I don't do this myself though.

What can i use that would be safe to cover the mat? I don't use aspen bedding anymore as i was told this could be causing some problems for him! Any suggestions?

DO NOT use tape. Very BAD idea. Tape can cause serious injuries to snakes if they get stuck on it.
