not needed at all, if u want some light in the cage, go to ikea and they have some small spot light things that u put batteries in and only push to turn it on, they are great, i am going to get some when all mine are in there final vivs
How do these stick into the inside of the viv?? they sound good! |

Light isn't necessarily needed, though it can help if the snake is kept in a room with low light. For example my snakes are kept in a converted roof space with very low amounts of natural light, so I use light bulbs to give a 12 hr on/12 hr off light cycle. I have read that this can help stop snakes from going off food during the winter period.
Lights can be used for this and for viewing purposes but a UV light isn't needed, if you want to do this you can just get a normal energy efficient light bulb or LED lights.

Posted - 18/07/2010 : 08:29:58 As above, waste of cash. You don't need a light of any kind in there, just a mat and stat. |
