Hi im a bit confused with a few words and what thay mean, im finding the diff morphs u can get very fasanating but dont kno what these words mean =
Motley, Hypo, Dilute, Het.
Plz help 
im sure i will have more words later.  |

Whats exciting is when you get babies you weren't expecting, and realise your snakes are het for things you didn't realise!!! :D |

its a confusing thing, im stuck at the breeding part as 2 snakes mating dont make the morph that their visual pattern resembles its the hets that are needed in breeding, im new to breeding and confused ...... ::D

lol mine was the simple version.. to me it looks like they disappear in the motley pattern rather than blend together  the genetics side of things isnt my thing but im getting there

The motley pattern doesn't lose the side saddles, it blends them together, it also links the saddles on the back, sometimes just a couple, often more. Motley can cause striping too in really extreme cases.
Hets exist because nearly all corn morphs are recessive, so it can carry the gene but not show it, and to show it both the parents must carry the same morph heterozygously then the offspring may show it. |

motley is the name for the pattern when there is no side saddles (lateral pattern) and no belly chequers,
hypo is short for hypomelanistic, this morph has no black or very little black as it has reduced amounts of the pigment which produces the black colouring, you can get hypos on their own but also combined with another morph which can lead to enhanced other pigments
dilute is when the colours are washed out giving a paler colour - kinda like its getting ready to shed all the time,most colours are faded but some are heightened
het is short for heterozygous which means the snake carries a gene but doesnt show it outwardly
