I recently gained a Snow female she is about 3 years old, 2 and a half ft. I kept her in quarentine and I bought a new viv for her that is about 3 and a half ft. Ive had her for 5 weeks now and she has only fed with me once ( I thought she was off her food because of the move )
Anyway I Put her in the new viv on Monday and noticed that the scales on the top of her head are very dry and flaky. She refuses to come out of her hide in the new viv but she is livly and nosey when I take her out.
Any idea why she isnt eating and her beahiour?

It probably is just down to her being moved into her new viv Hannah. I know it is not the same as when you first get a snake and leave them for a week without handling or feeding to settle in, but she could maybe do with being left for a few days so that she can get used to her new home. Have you moved some of her old substrate, hides etc into the new viv with her? That can help as it means that there is her own smell around her.
How often is she feeding? If you have had her for 5 weeks, and she has had the first week of getting used to the new smells and you and getting over the stress of the move....and now you have moved her into a new viv it will all be very unsettling....it is a lot to handle in a short period of time.
She could very well be coming up for a shed. Do you have any history on her and know whether she is due a shed? That may be a reason as to why she isnt eating.
Just continue to offer her food on her usual feeding day....and have a look at this thread for some ideas as to how you could tempt her to eat - http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1070
The main thing is not to panic....she has eaten with you once in those 5 weeks and corns can go a long time without feeding. So just give her time and be patient.

Its prob the move, but do u kno if she dew to shad ? Thay like to hide when getting ready to shed ,just keep changing her water and she shoud feed soon when she feels safe. :) |
