my snake, is quite restless at night, rekon it could be too humid? |

Yes Luke but males become sexually mature around 18 months old. 
That rules mainly for the females but the males gotta have some substatial length to get around the female.
I'd put it down to the tempreture, my males been a wee bit skitty but nothing out of the ordinary. |

when i say humid i mean in general, i dont have any humidity gismo's going on for my cornsnake. ive just moved to south east london, be looking to breed next year now does anyone no anyone in that area who i could get any expierence from? ive never done it, my snake has never been sexed so i wudnt get very far and im going to need another snake if you no any shops or people that would be a great help, cheers.. |

You ask whether it could be too humid Shaun....I am assuming that you are not doing anything to increase the humidity in your snake's viv? Corns dont need any extra humidity and it can cause problems.
Greg is right in what he says. Corns are crepuscular, which means that they are most active in the wild at dusk and dawn....although this can change in captive snakes and they form individual behaviour patterns.
It could also be that your snake is finding it very hot during the day and therefore is coming out and being more active at night than it may normally be....
I THINK it is just coming to the end of the breeding season (my males have just started eating after fasting cos they were horny  ) so I doubt it has anything to do with that. Lee is very right in his comment about the need for your snake (particularly the female) to be 3yrs old, 300g and 3ft long - it is the rule of 3....and if you do it before she is ready then there are a lot of things that can go wrong. If you are thinking about breeding then I would suggest that you do a LOT of research before definitely making up your mind....it is not as easy as it seems!

as a rule tho you should wait till the snake is atleast 3 foot 300grams and 3 years if you plan to breed. just thought i would say |

Cornsnakes hunt at night, well at dawn and dusk. So they are much more likely to be out and about at night than during the day. Just now mine has been cruising all round his vivarium.
Some snakes will spend most of their time curled up doing nothing while others will be very active. I think it's just down to the individual snake. Nothing to get too concerned about.
And yes as far as I am aware this is the breeding season so that might be a contributory factor as well. |

my snake is 2years old next week, its it the time of year for snakes to...you no do the deed. and is 2year old too young ? or is he/she ready to get fruity?? |
