Wattage is size dependant, so just get the right size for you viv/tub and you wont have much choice in the wattage!!

Not really, its more to do with the size of the mat.
for instance i use 7w mats for my fauns, purely cause these mats suit the size of the faun. 20W for the vivs. But as ive said they were not bought because of the wattage but the size. All my mats are keep the same temps in their respective uses
