I've been hankering for a DIY viv to fit in with my living room for quite a while... and today in Ikea I spotted this:
https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/tables/coffee-side-tables/sammanhang-coffee-table-grey-glass-art-20412444/
It has two sets of sliding doors, both of which id put a lock on, and clearly a couple of holes that would need bunging up.
Anyone who has experience of adapting furniture into vivs... it has a metal base inside - will this be a problem for putting a heat mat on? would I be best getting wood cut to size to line the bottom? I'm concerned about how the metal would conduct the heat and potentially not leave a cooler area.
I'm planning on resting a felt-lined tray on top to stop shock from drinks being put down travelling through... any other recommendations or words of advice greatly appreciated!
