Good evening all.

After having Tinker nearly two years, we have decide to upgrade her viv.
We went a brought a book case that matches our furniture in a bid to put on display properly in our living room.

We are nearly ready to let her in her new home, but are having some lighting issues..... we want to use LED strip lighting, but the problem is her viv is 3 story's high and we want the light on each level.
we looked at this product >> http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=907641&c_2=2%7Ccat_16849318%7CCeiling

Any ways, the problem with this product is the connecting wires between the light are to short,so of no use.... any ideas?

Below is a really bad drawing of what i want to do....all help is welcome :)

Be patient with the yacht varnish when its applied :) i have tried all sorts and its been about 3 weeks since i did mine with only 2 coats and it still stink, tried onion in water, heating the viv to 33 degrees, put a fan on the viv, left doors shut then opened them so let the smell build up then go. It will take ages :)

Thanks for the help, we just ordered a small pot of yacht varnish, and the lights.
Getting excited now, can't wait to get her in ;)

not really boat varnish is good

Yacht varnish is the best I believe but I think it is exspensive compared to normal varnish. Not sure if it matters which varnish you use as long as it is well sealed. There are lots of posts in this section about building your own viv and they may tell you more than I can as I bought my viv from a shop.

Donnie I could kiss you!
That is just what we were looking for, thank you so much.

One more dum ass question, when varnishing the wood (on book case) Is there a special type we should use.

This might be more suitable then the homebase ones
