Ive just bought a viv exotic LX vivarium with glass sliding doors. There is no lock on the sliding doors, and i have noticed that other people have fitted them, can snakes easily open these? thanks

I have one of these, they work fine. They lock so you know the vivarium is secure.

a bit of cardboard won't prevent a corn from pushing the glass doors open

personaly i would use a bit of cardboard... locks are a bit of a handeling and can damage the glass... but like others have said ther are noesey people proof if you no what i mean....

I have an actual lock on mine! 4 kids, very nosey, ace investment! Not that im worried the snake will hurt them or they will hurt her. But just the thought of them poking around at her when im not there!! Eek! Keys are on me at all times

You can buy wedges for viv's here : http://www.livefoods.co.uk/product_info.php/rubber-cage-lock-wedges-pack-p-403

we use mainly locks but a few have wedges........the locks are child-proof which is why we prefer them

I prefer rubber wedges or the thick piece of cardboard style personally. I found a viv lock to be fiddly, always fell off regardless of how tightly it was ttatched, stiff and scratched the glass!

okay, anyone know where to buy a lock for the viv exotic range?

where there's a will there's a way! ideally add a lock or wedge to prevent them pushing the sliding glass doors open
