Hi,

I was lucky enough to watch Beaker shed last night. The shed was wet and pliable immediately after coming off and it was interesting to see how he twitched his scales right at the point where the shed was peeling off as it moved down his body.
I've only got 4 photos as he spent most of the time out of sight.

What fantastic pics John, not only were you lucky enough to see Beaker shed but we were lucky enough that you got some pics of it ! Saw Kellog shed the last time but he did it right at the front of the viv so, even though I had the camera, I couldnt get any good pics .

I do find it amazing watching them and you have described it really well - I always think it looks as though they are making their body 'walk' out of their old shed.

That first pic is a great one, with the head folded back like that. You can even see the shed eye caps clearly.

The shed is 'wet and pliable immediately after coming off', I often have trouble removing it from the viv without ripping it on branches and hides etc....which is frustrating when it is a full clean shed. I seem to remember GP comparing it to something....I wonder if anyone remembers what !

Nice shots, saw my big lad shed last weekend, was a perfect shed except for it was soggy, rolled up and had a present inside waiting for me... first shot is amazing, loving the headscarf.
