very cute pic get a damp piece of kitchen towel and gently massage the retained shed and it should work its way off - when he next sheds with you it might be an idea to use a moist hide to help him get it all off
HB i have tried that damp kitchen roll but i find that the snake is bit jumpy any adivice on this please so i can take some retained shed of his tail.
I know I am not HannahB and she probably has more experience than I do dealing with this, but what about trying to use a damp towel rather than kitchen roll....means it is something bigger for your snake to slide through, you can get a better grip and there is less chance of it falling into bits in your hands like damp kitchen roll does - just a suggestion .

If you see any more retained shed, from when he sheds next time make sure you get it off ASAP, can cut off the blood supply to some places, especially the tail tip, and in some occurances, the tip drops off |

So glad you found the chat room and have figured out how to deal with the retained shed on his tail, it could cause serious problems. Well done for going in, it is a great place to get info, get to know forum members personally and to just have a chat and a laugh (just wish that more people were awake at the silly hours I am up )
