Posted - 20/04/2010 : 08:26:05 Thanks kellog :-) My OH is getting right into snakes now so its not a worry, he has said thats my last 1 for a while tho . Yes i have 25 but im only planning on keeping 1 hatchling as they are my first, also my 15 year old sister really wants a snake so i have given (loaned...lol) her one of my anerys as i have 2 and he is a good feeder and calm. She may yet give him back but at least she didnt go out and buy one as she changes her mind all the time. We shall see...... |

And to be able to walk into a shop without planning on buying a corn and walk out with one, with the blessing of your OH - that is something I just dream about! Have I got my maths wrong or does that mean that you now have 25 corns???? 6.8.11 Corns??? How many of the hatchlings are you planning on keeping?? You certainly have one very understand OH!
The 2nd pic of him is lovely, all ssssss shaped!

Posted - 18/04/2010 : 22:16:58 het is a pair of genes (one inherited from each parent) that are different to each other, either 1 normal & 1 mutant, or 1 mutant & 1 different mutant.
Het doesn't neccesarily mean its not shown as in the case of codominant and dominant morphs.
1.2.3 would mean 1 male, 2 female, 3 unknown. Its sometimes shortened to two numbers, so 1.2 would be 1 male, 2 females :) |

Sorry for my lack of morph law, but what is a het? Also what do the numbers by peoples snakes mean?
Lovly looking snake though. Really nice clear pics! Glyn
Het is a gene which is carried but is not shown. A lavander het diffused and bloodred het lavander could produce bloodred/diffused and lavander hatchlings.
As for the numbers it is to do with how many corns somebody has, i think it is something along the lines of 1st number male, 2nd number female 3rd number unsexed.
so if im correct i would have 0.0.3 corns. |

Posted - 18/04/2010 : 16:42:38 what a cutie! if he is a he then i think you should call him... Bobby ha
and Gly, the numbers stand for the sexes of the animals 1.2.1 means one male, two female and 3 unsexed (i think thats in the right order!) and het is heterozygous, meaning that the animal carries the gene for something but doesnt show it (...or something like that) |
