After being a member since October '09 I thought it was about time to share some photos of LegLess with you. She now has a new viv too so I snapped these up earlier.

I will get some of her stretched out on the bed soon to give you an idea of just how big she is. Her last shed was just shy of 6 foot. I measured her ages ag with string 3 times and she was 5 foot 7 so she is more than that now.

I also took a couple to give you an idea of how round she is too. The close up of her on the jungle vine is a good one. It is the medium vine. She also hasn't ate for two weeks. She was due a feed Monday but I'm treating her like a new snake after the hour and 15 min trip from my parent's to my place.

Also the one with her over the water bowl is another scale photo as the bowl is the Xlarge exo terra one.

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks Rach. I will get some more up when I can handle her as I'm giving her a week to settle (ends sunday!) Try to get one of her stretched on the bed to give better perspective of length.

Yeah the skull is cool. If i'm honest I got it for asthetics to start, now she uses it for shedding and climbing in and on, its like an all in one feature!

LegLess is gorgeous, lovely big girl. Like her setup too, especially the croc skull.

That's ok Jase, that's my best guess based on LegLess.

Think Maizy is a great name for her (so much more original than Kellog !). Did immediately get it, but not everyone realises what maize is!!

LegLess is 11 years and about 4 months I think. She probably was around that length and weight at I would guess 5 or 6. I wouldn't guarantee it of course as they grow differently. I noticed that the length grew very slowly after that and the weight was, I won't say fast, but certianly girth was more noticeable than length after that age. She also became gravid and lay a clutch of eggs twice earlier on in her life, so obviously that may have slowed her, but I'm not a breeder so I don't know.

I would say from the growth pattern of LegLess, Maizy is about 5 maybe 6 at the oldest. As I said a very rough guess. Hope that helps? And Maizy is a cool name.

i had no info on her just needed to save her from the shop lol glad you like the maize pun no everyone gets it! she's over 600g and about 5'5 i know aging isn't an exact science but would be interesting to have a rough idea i'v just guess at between 3 and 5 from what i'v read. she's happy and healthy and thats all that matters at the end of the day :)

Hi Kellog.

Thanks for your nice comment (though its not my doing, its entirely LegLess' natural beauty!)

She was sold to me as an anery (type a) and I believed so all the years I had her up until a few years ago when she's gone the colours she has now. I am debating her morph as well! I think it may be helpful if eeji or one of the other morph specialists saw this and gave their opinion!?

I still think she is anery but as you said; she does have maybe a trait or two of ghost.....

I feed her once every 2 weeks on wiener rats. I know some owners wouldn't agree that wieners are the best (high fat etc) but as I said its every 2 weeks. Sometimes I do rotate between wieners and large or jumbo mice (if mice then 12 days), and as LegLess is not a fussy feeder, it isn't hard to do this. i.e. she isn't bothered that mice may have a "nicer" scent, so it is not a problem switching.

Although I said "I weighed her a while ago and she was 1,012g and she is more now"- it will only be a negligible increase. (I know you aren't Kellog, but I don't want any one who reads this thinking i'm trying to fatten her up to become some super corn or something)!

She's a big corn and I love her the way she is!

The viv she is in is only a vx36 so the length + side is 4 1/2 foot so she does need the vx48. Long story but I ordered the vx48 from my dad's friend that owns a pet shop, it doesn't specialise in snakes but he could get it cheaper. Anyway obviously the wrong one came and I didn't want to fall out with him as he thought I said the 36.... Anyway though it could be bigger (I will replace with 48 after my op) I do get her out regularly and being the age she is she sleeeps all the time anyway. (I also have insomnia so even in the night all I ever see her do is take a drink and maybe a de-tour back to the hide)..... It does mean at the moment I feel like a hypocrite advising the noob's length + side = snak length!

I believe I read somewhere Kellog has a 4 foot viv? In which case I would say she'll be fine if she got to LegLess' size if its 18 inch deep?

Ah yeah the croc skull! I put it in her old viv as something to help her shed- she uses the teeth to rub her head to get started! I got another hide for the cold end but she seems to prefer the skull. You can see the top of it from the photos here but in front of the water bowl there is a large artificial plant which covers alot of floor. She loves burrowing between that and the aspen. I do alternate between that and the other hide between cleans to keep her on her proverbial toes!

Sorry for long reply!

LegLess is beautiful, I love her colouring and how chocolately her saddles are. What morph is she? My immediate reaction was a ghost but then I do have ghosts on the brain ! But hearing how dark she started, and she doesnt have quite the yellow stripe of Kellog.....is she an anery?? Wish my brain could process these morphs but it struggles to process anything as it is !

You say she hasnt eaten for 2 weeks. If she is over a KG I would assume that she is now on a maintenance diet cos at her age and size you are not wanting her to put on any more weight. I am asking as I feed Kellog 1 jumbo mouse every 10 days at the moment, he is 1 foot and just under 300g smaller than Legless. It is amazing to imagine him reaching that sort of length, I didnt think he could grow much longer!

It is fantastic that she is now with you where she belongs, and in a new home. You are definitely doing the right thing giving her a settling in period, time to get over the journey and get used to her new home. Missing a feed wont be a problem for her. How big is your viv? Just wondering if I am going to have to upgrade Kellog again when I thought he was in this one for life!

(I notice your croc skull in the viv...Skorps and Chrissy love that sort of thing - am surprised Skorps didnt comment!)

It would be quite hard to guage the age from size and weight alone, as they all grow at different rates, though you could get a rough indication. Did you get much information on her when you bought her?

@Hannah, cheers. Yeah taken me ages to get some up!

@Lee: Yeah I've put them in from inside, I will also glue tomorrow so she can't push or pull them through.

@Skorps thanks. She has got the nice chocolate colours over the last two or three years. As said, previous they were almost jet black. I like both but she does look very distinguishable now, of course her size makes her bit bigger than most too!

@Lessthanjase: Maizy- that cuz of corn-maize-maizy?! I like the name of yours too. LegLess is pretty good and quite clever as I was 13 at the time (11yrs ago). I weighed her last about December last year and she was 1,012 grams so over a KG! Though I don't weigh her that much, she probably weighs more but not much, as obviously the rate of growth is very little. How bout Maizy's weight?

@GP thanks, even after so long of having her I still love how she looks!

EDIT: (Can't edit first post!). Only recently realised, as best shown in photo 2, how the darker colours are more chocolate coloured. Whereas when she was younger (she's 11 now) it was a deep black- Like twilight!
