No idea - OH thinks so cos of shape of tail and counting scales from vent to end of tail...but dont trust that. Will take him and get him probed once he has calmed down, no rush and dont really need to know...but want to take him to our normal reptile place just so they can look at him and see what they say about his size and weight.

Oh by the way. how often do you have to handle him on average to tame him down?

Am handling him twice a day only for about 5 minutes, depending on how he is reacting. Sometimes he is calmer so it stretches to nearly 10 minutes, other times he is obviously stressed so return him to viv sooner. Hope I am doing the right thing

What a beauty Kellog!!

I'm so pleased you got your second snake (you've been supressing your addiction so well I was wondering how long you'd be able to wait!!!:P ).

Best wishes xx

Fed this morning out of viv (pics to follow). Calm enough getting out. Has definitely put on weight but forgot to weigh him or mice (naughty!!). Didnt go for 1st mouse offered...too distracted by OH's fingers! But great strike and coil with 2nd. Then offered 1st again and did eat it. Only problem was then continued to strike as OH moved him back into viv! But good feed and looks like weight gain, so all positive.

Glad he has had such a warm welcome. Son named him (was originally called Scooby) but I had final decision over spelling of name! Didnt want normal Sylvester (as in black cat and tweety pie!) so chose Silver Star, without the r's!!

Need some advice re: age, size etc.

Wasnt being kept in good condition and was with an owner who knew nothing, despite having had him for over 18 months and having had another corn that died. I asked him questions and he looked totally confused. We went hoping for a female, but couldnt I couldnt leave him there and as far as OH was concerned was fantastic offer for snake and big viv that would fit Kellog...along with cupboards underneath, heatmat, hides etc.

He is very feisty, only handled about every 3 days with glove. Approx length just over 3 ft. Weight just over 210grams. Supposedly about 3 and half years old!!!! Very muscular and strong. Feeding once a week on 2 medium mice that he does fantastic strike, coil and contrict.

He is now in Kellog's old viv and Kellog in new viv (which is lovely to see). Very timid (some of it down to OH's inability to be patient, but thats a different story!). Beginning to poke head out and we are handling him twice a day for a few minutes...without glove!! He is very jumpy but no strikes and is calming down a bit.

What do people think about his size/weight/age?
