Posted - 16/02/2015 : 01:28:15 So here's a late update... So some of my hatchlings from Sakana & Cereus didn't fare too well... The little runt, Pip, and a few others unfortunately passed on They never ate on their own and all got force fed. The rest all found new homes, apart from one.
So everyone, meet Amara my little ex non-feeder who now eats like a pig. Number 19, the last to hatch out of the entire clutch.
Anyway, here's some photo's. I'll tell you now, you'll probably very rarely see pictures of this quality from me! These were taken on a Fujifilm Bridge Camera I borrowed from college, all I have at home now is my little digital camera which is very iffy(flash has problems, focus problems, etc.) and my phone which takes potato quality photo's lol.
These are from the 28th January 2015.
Showing off her appetite.
Starting her shed - 2nd February 2015 - This was actually before the blue phase.
9th February 2015.
This was taken the day I had to give the brilliant camera back *cries* - 10th February 2015.
These are officially the most recent, taken on my little digital fujifilm - 14th February 2015.
From this I have learnt, I need a better camera. Preferably the exact one I borrowed!! XD It's nice to have a camera that can actually get good photo's!! Lol.
To finish this thread off, a quick look at some of her earlier photo's... All dated of course.
Days after she hatched, she hatched 8th August 2014 - Taken 12th August 2014.
26th August 2014.
9th September 2014.
16th October 2014.
27th October 2014.
13th November 2014.
That's it, the rest of the photo's I have aren't really worth sharing as they aren't very good lol. Long post is long.... Sorry about that, also sorry if any of these photo's are huuuuuge! I have resized them before posting.. |

Ahh... Such a shame
How have you tried to wean her off? What I did with the chicken was I reduced the scented "area" of the pinky until it was unscented. They didn't even seem to realize I was doing it. Like I started off scenting the whole pinky, then everything minus the bum and just closed that gap each feed
Noticed her belly is like this so I think in future I'll be getting a male Amber het Amel or similar to breed her with to test out this whole "brown checkers with orange speckles" thing lol. I'd expect it's just that she's a light Normal as I always thought but you never know without testing! :)

So sorry about the other little ones, great though that she is now an eater, and super adorable
Thanks SBB, wasn't much of a shock TBH and that sounds horrid I know... But they just got weaker and weaker. Pip hatched and died weighing only 2 grams unfortunately..
She's great, she has even struck and coiled her food on occasion since she started eating properly |

Daw, cute squiggler! She can give my Checkers some lessons in eating -_-
Ahaha, try what I did
I got this little girl and a few others in the clutch eating by scenting the pinkies with cooled down roast chicken. What I did was put the pinkies and roast chicken in a plastic bag, rubbed them together and then defrosted them down my bra(I know, they were in a plastic bag though!) to get them to room temperature. Didn't work with all of them but the majority. |

She is absolutely gorgeous... Lovely, perfect and clean markings, beautiful colours, and those thick saddle borders... you post as many pics of her, as you like! :-) How can people say corn snakes are boring?
Thank you Her borders seem to constantly change thickness in photo's. In some of them they are really thick, in others she looks almost Hypo. In fact, I had someone trying to insist she was definitely a Hypo not a Normal lol.
Corns are not boring in any way, shape or form I agree! My fiancé doesn't like them too much(and he moaned when I said I wanted to keep her!) because they are small snakes... XD |
