Posted - 24/09/2012 : 12:00:58 Hi all, just thought I'd share some pics of my first baby (hope I've done it right!) - Female Amel hatchling called Blaze, almost 4 months old.
This is when I first got her at a month old...
And this is her now, will be 4 months old at the beginning of Oct. Just before a shed...
And her beautiful colours just after a shed (with my chihuahua being nosey underneath!)...
She's about 2 foot long now, so I was wondering if she's still alright in her 39cm x 25cm terrarium, or if it's time to upgrade to something bigger already! I love her to pieces, she has me addicted and I already can't wait for my next one - a female butter motley hatchling if anybody has one!
Thanks, Amy |

Posted - 26/09/2012 : 11:12:03 Just feed a couple of small pinks for a couple of weeks - if she can manage 2 pinks then she's probably ready for a fuzzy ;) (She looks big enough for fuzzies to me, but photos can be deceiving lol) |

Posted - 25/09/2012 : 08:36:48 Thanks guys! She's blushing :p She wont be in a viv till we move into a house. We just have a tiny flat at the mo, and most of our living room is taken up by the 3ft tropical fish tank! Will just buy her the biggest RUB I can. Can't wait to get a viv that I can decorate properly though! Although I do plan on ending up with quite a lot of snakes :p so I can see a rack being more appropriate! The pinkies at the shop next to me are teeny, the same size as her head now. I was thinking of buying both pinkies and fuzzies, and if she refuses the fuzz, just start feeding her two pinkies at a time... Although I doubt she'll refuse anything as she is a garbage disposal! Would probably attempt a fully grown mouse if I gave her the chance! Will size up a fuzz next to her.... and if I'm a bit worried then will just do two pinkies at a time. (Would of liked to phrase most of that as questions but my question mark doesn't work on this keyboard so everything has to be a statement instead!). |

Posted - 24/09/2012 : 21:10:49 What a stunning girl! I'd be inclined to move her into a viv now. How much of a bump do the pinkies give her? If it's not very much at all then move her up a size. It's very easy to fall in love with our snakes isn't it? |
