Oooh a good size for a hoggie eh? Now that's a thought.... :p
Georgina Posted - 18/02/2012 : 16:26:00
Mine both prefer burrowing do they so they are ideal for me, and the 30 inche will house a hoggie when midnight moves up.

888 reptiles do them too. I really like them, but they are not deep enough for my liking as Corno really likes climbing!
Hissyfit Posted - 18/02/2012 : 13:34:41
Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for them, ideal for a youngster too
Georgina Posted - 17/02/2012 : 21:12:00
They sell them at pets at home I think, they do 3 sizez 18 inch, 24 inch snd 30 inch, I have one each of the bigger ones. They are really good if you have it against a wall so the lid can rest, otherwise the hinge would bend, they hold the heat well and the heat mat goes between two pieces of glass, I think they are called monfield nutrions terrarium for ground dwelling reptiles. My local store sells them half the price of pah.

I don't know about strange and whacky, think mine are more run of the mill lol.

Lokis' viv:

Vaders viv,yep I still haven't got round to putting his lightsaber in there (its not a joke,I have actually bought him a lightsaber lol)

Sabai and Falcors divided viv. Getting a RUB for one of them soon as they could do with more room now.

Lol,I've got a sheeps skull named William!
nickyff Posted - 17/02/2012 : 15:12:40
yeh its real bone- I've got tons of stuff like that- old bits of bone, shells, sheep skulls(real ones) seed pods pine cones dried sunflowerheads - stuff from off the beach and various places- natural obj that are good for observational drawing- and some of it goes in the vivs...
thinking about backing now tho- cos the bare wood is a bit boring...

good thread- its useful to see (and nick) other ppls ideas!
sue2012 Posted - 17/02/2012 : 12:46:59
im def going to be going to look for some wood just finishe reading the post on how to treat the wood u get from out and about think i will get some backing as well is this just stuff used for fish tanks the backing def makes for a better looking viv @nickyff the cow bone u got is it real lol or just a fake one :)
nickyff Posted - 17/02/2012 : 12:26:03
sharon has just acquired some new climby stuff from the park- bleached + sanded, gratis, AND more interesting shapes than stuff I've seen in pet shops for £15 plus. still in the process of cleaning up the more massive bits I found for the biguns, so no pics of their homes til they're all lovely

oh, and that weird lumpy thing is a cows hip bone
Hissyfit Posted - 17/02/2012 : 11:32:13
I'd love one of the cool viv background inserts with ledges etc, maybe when my new stack arrives..for now this is Voldemort's viv. Think I need to move the divider a little, he's starting to look big in there!

Yeah, it was in the fish section, but it had holes in the top, at the front, and the side, so I thought it would have made a good hide! Adds something to the viv as well rather than just some plants! :)
Dancross0 Posted - 17/02/2012 : 09:03:35
Not technically a viv.....

I will however be updating this to a viv, because it's a nightmare to keep heated properly.
Mamma Posted - 17/02/2012 : 08:56:21
sorry lol.. yeah they are guinea pig igloos from pets at home. £4.99 and split in half for 2 hides
