Posted - 01/07/2011 : 21:28:31 Was handling her the other day .... are these little white bits normal?
I might be being silly, but i've never seen them on another snake before and I thought it's better to ask and be embaressed than leave it alone. She has one or two more, they really stand out, sort of white gaps.
Sorry the pictures so crap, she's hardly every stil1! Sort of near the middle of the pictuire you can see a white thing.
Oh, and here's her having a play on the bed :D

Posted - 03/07/2011 : 17:17:17 They didn't know really, they said "2 .... no ... she's about 3 ..." So it's anyone's guess. I think she's older than that. |

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 22:19:23 Quite soon if the rats are big enough. If you dont see a gain and your feeding the adequately sized prey then I would possibly consider checking for internal parasites (its a slight chance worth mentioning but not worth worrying about just yet) but wait and see what happens. |

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 21:38:32 Phew, thanks :)
Well she was on rats at the garden centre - once a week, same as what i'm doing now, and she's been on that for a good month or more. How long before a noticable weight gain do you think? |

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 18:32:24 she is a little under weight but the way you're feeding her atm should bring it back up nicely. The white bits look like slightly damaged scales and the skin underneath showing. Its nothing to worry about. |

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 16:23:09 Right!
Here's a better pic of the white things ...
We also tried to weigh her and the scales are bloody broke! The middle digit doesnt work, so she's 4SOMETHING8 grams .... sigh!

I hope she appreciates this |

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 10:06:21 If she's a wiggler you can try putting her in a pillowcase and put that into the tray of your kitchen scales! Worked for one of mine. Or else you can try to get her into a lunchbox or something. Don't forget to zero it on the scales first though, that was my mistake :P |

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 09:49:18 Hey all,
I'll try and get a better picture later ... it's like a gap, it's not colouring, cos she has white bits of colour elsewhere.
I'll weight her later too. Any tips on what to do there? She's never still!
You're not the first to say she looks thin. I thought it a bit when I got her. She's on a medium rat once a week or an xtra large mouse. Think I should up it a little? Although i hear that's a normal amount for a corn her size.
She's near enough 4ft 3- 5 inches.
Sadly we have no records for her, we got her from a garden centre where she was just given to them.
I'll get her weight for you asap. I was gonna come on here later and as for feeding charts lol

Posted - 02/07/2011 : 09:15:44 My snake has a little white bit near one scale too and I also am wondering what it is. My snake is in shed atm so I am hoping it will sort itself out when he sheds. Your snake does look a little thin in the pics, he looks a little bit toblerone shaped to me but as Mort13 said, perhaps its the light. |

Posted - 01/07/2011 : 22:50:30 She's beautiful. Its hard to tell from the photo's what the white bits are,I can't quite make it out. The only thing I will say,is she looks quite thin, could just be the way the lights hitting her though. Do you know how much she weighs? |
