had phoenix out for a play, was nice to see her active when i put her back in the viv an saw her drink for the first time which was quite cool

my king Merlin does this... he has always done it since being a hatchling (according to the previous owner). His temps are spot on etc, he has no mites... he does this constantly reguardless as to whether he is abotu to shed etc.

I genuinely feel he loves to just chill in his water bowl

only seen her in there once. never saw anything in the water.
the temp in the hot end is about 78-80f alot of the time she is under her hide on the heatmat an now an then shes in the other hide

Wow she has totally submerged herself in that bowl. Sign or been too warm or mites aso just be on the look out for black critters in the bottom of the bowl and just check your temperatures, should be 28oC hot end and around 20oC cool end. Or could be just a bit dehydrated or about to shed so not all bad.

corns come in varying different morphs, paint jobs. Yours is amel

Have a look at http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/species/elaphe_guttata/ this is possibly the best guide there is to corn snake morphs.
