On giving Cherry a spot check and water change yesterday she decided that i was a handy rock and started to shed in my hands!!
really strange having a snake push its head into your fingers so forcefully, but i grabbed a few photos before leaving her to shed in peace.

time to go back in the viv

and a extra pic of Tequila

Oh that is interesting. Thanks for the link i'd missed that one, i'm always on the look out for people with the same problem. I'll give her a message, if it really was a genetic condition and her snake has the same problem there is a VERY irresponsible breeder around.

Thanks :D, i was really surprised at how well the pictures came out, i really rushed them as i wanted to get her back in the viv so she could carry on shedding normally.

Ailsa & Only1Nitro - when she was about 6 or 7 months old she got some weird eye problem that no specialist had seen before. It went on for a number of months just getting worse despite loads of tests and attempts at fixing it , in the end they decided it was genetic and that the only way to save her would be to remove the eye altogether.

So thats what i had done. Her eye was removed last summer and she hasn't had a problem since.

I see what people mean about them being super shiny after they shed, her little head is so shiny where the shed has come off. How did she loose her eye? It is amazing how animals and humans adapt to loosing an eye.
