I was asked by a friend to explain what 'in blue' meant so took these photos and droned on for about 25 minutes about it. He looks so faded but is remarkably well mannered about the whole affair, even when I disturb him.

Taken yesterday he's clearing up, still a bit patchy on the blue front mainly on the top of the head but getting there. Next step, shedding! (camera at the ready just in case he puts on a show like last time)

His eyes look really weird just after he's been in blue. Very very boggle eyed.

That's what Spot does, I fully intend on leaving him alone from now on, I only disturbed him to take these pictures in the interest of education (my mates all wanting to know stuff). I know the ins and outs of his shedding cycle this second time around so I don't need to check in on him like I have been doing. I'm sure he'll thank me in the long run. I'm still hoping that he matches his previous form and sheds on Sunday.

Awww so cute! I've still got no idea what my snakes temperament is like when shes in blue, she just goes to sleep for a week or so and I don't see her!
lotabob Posted - 17/11/2010 : 21:30:27
My first clue is he disappears into a hide and I don't see him for 2 days, I then check on him and check his belly, if its milky I know what's going on. This shed took me by surprise, its only been a few weeks since his last shed and I thought it wouldn't be so quick but from shed to shed ignoring the rubbish hiding/blue stages it is about a month in between which is about right. But your right its odd how one snake will go very milky at the eyes and others don't yet the process is exactly the same for all snakes. I'm just glad he doesn't get defensive or too cranky.

Aww bless,it must be a horrible thing for them to go through. Hope little Spots eyes clear soon and he has another successful shed for you.
Weird how they are all different isn't it. If it wasn't for the change in behaviour and the colour change on Lokis belly scales I most likely wouldn't know when he's in shed!

Yeah his eyes are almost totally opaque, he is absolutely blind today, he was a bit scared until he flicked his tongue and I think he realised it was me and calmed back down almost straight away which is a nice sign he trusts me. I didn't attempt to pick him up, I didn't want to disturb him any more than to just get some pictures. Its an amazing process they go through but I feel so sorry for him, it should be all over with by Monday and I get my snake back for a few weeks until the next shed.

Wow his eyes are really cloudy aren't they!! Lokis hardly change and I've yet to see Falcor in shed.
He's still beautiful though
