Hi, may sound stupid but ive recently noticed that one of my snakes under belly has gone from white and black stripes to like a opinkie white and black..

Is this usual?

Thanx

no it doesn't hillzi, they often have the best sheen immediately POST-shed...........
hillzi Posted - 03/01/2010 : 14:32:45
the sheen generally means going into shed. but blit'z belly has a sheen on it all the time.

all looks perfectly normal to me too, their colouring does change as they grow up

eeji Posted - 28/12/2009 : 23:48:34

snakes can change colour quite dramatically from hatchie to adult...............

as a normal i'd expect some orangey colouration to come through on his ventral/belly scales at some point and to probably get darker with age. a pinkish tinge could indicate an imminent shed but is much more commonly seen in royals...........

a pic would be good in case it's something like an infection though.......

I first thought shed. I'll get a belly pic of Blitzkreig when I can. He's a normal too. :D

agree with PunkAsF82, more info needed but it does not sound like anything to worry about
PunkAsF82 Posted - 28/12/2009 : 10:39:44
what morph is it?

Some snakes change colours as they get older. Could just be a normal metamorphosis taking place

Really need age, colour, temps etc, to make sure it isn't something else
I wouldn't worry too much though, but we'll wait until one of the big shots takes a look eh?
