I know its going to be hard telling your son but unfortunately it is also part of life, which he will grow to understand. My kids have seen one of our dogs dying and then came and sad goodbye afterwards, think it really helped them deal with their grief. Its hard not knowing why though. xxx

agree with the above, the only way you will find out is a post mortem..

but for what its worth a lot of corns die in there first year for what seems like no reason..

they can have many internal things go wrong, but one of the most common causes of death in young corns is an enlarged heart...

RIP little one and so sorry for your loss

sorry to hear the little fella didn't make it :(

If you want a definate answer to what happened, contact your reptile vets to arrange for a post mortem. If you do this, don't freeze the snake because they won't be able to do anything.

so sorry for you, but just be honest with your son and reassure him that there are people out there who will do their best to find out what went wrong. x

sorry to here your loss hope ya find the reason why
Brookestar Posted - 14/08/2009 : 16:08:26
pictures of the set up may help. as well as infomation about size weight and viv set up.
im sure with the infomation we could help you out.

for telling your son theres nothing you can say. it was an accident and some snakes just dont have a long life. some members have had snakes die after a few months for "no reason" aswell but as you probably know yourself there is always a reason.

Sorry to hear that

If you can describe the set-up we can hopefuly give you a reason. We need to know whats the snake being kept in, whats it being heated by etc.

Are all the snakes kept the same way?
