Can some one please help me. I have a friends corn snake which is 13 months old but it looks like a hatchling. It is about 11 inches long and the thickness of a shoe lace. I know there is something wrong because my corn snake is 6 months old and he is nearly 3 foot long and he is as thick as a copper pipe. I just need to know how to care for the little guy. so he can have a better life

I would be great full if some one can help

A very fat corn most likely.

A fat dead one :(

....back on subject, I have a 17 month old corn and he too is tiny - he looks like an early '10 he's that small. He doesn't eat so well, and regularly goes a month at a time refusing to eat.

Can you post a pic of your friends corn next to something we can accurately guage his length and girth by, he may just look smaller than you're used to seeing

The corn I am collecting next week is around 6 months old and is no where near 3ft!

there have been known to be very small corns, its highly likely that its not gonna grown that much over its life.
More and more dwarf corns are cropping up now, unless its body shape is really bad, ie, tent like, then its not a problem.
If its eating properly, shedding properly, then its fine.
If your corn is 3ft at 6 months, then thats a record, or its rubbish, i have never even heard of a 6 month corn being 3ft, you'd be lucky to hit that at a year old.

Taking the size of everyones snake to one side for a second, a year old corn snake is VERY small if its 11 inches and shoe lace sized. Do you know anything about its growth rate? Was it small to start with? Does it eat regularly? Has it had any health problems?

mine is about the same age and on small mice but it depends on the snake,it can take prey no larger than 1.5x the thickest art of its body. All snakes grow at extremly differant rates,do you know the weight of it and how often its being fed?if it's eating drinking and pooing i wouldnt worry.
