Hey all,
I posted recently about the fact my male has gone off his feed, which isn't like him at all. I couldnt think of any reason for the sudden loss of appetite.
However, I was reading one of the other posts about snakes eating prey bum first, and I suddenly remembered that Casper had a bit of a problem resulting from this shortly before he went off his food- He tried eating a medium mouse bum first, like he does quite often, but it was a funny shape from were it had been frozen, and it got stuck in his mouth. He couldnt continue swallowing it and got quite stressed, rubbing it along the sides of the RUB. I had to hold the mouse still with tongs so he could detach his teeth and gave him a rest for a while, before offering it again and ensuring he grabbed the head. He ate it with no issues.
Could his current feeding issues be in any way related to this incident? and if so, how can I remedy the problem? he has never before refused feeds, though he has only missed about 4, and still seems bright and active, so at the moment I'm not too concerned. I do however feel like a bit of a prat for not remembering sooner! 
Any suggestions would be great!

have looked and can see nothing obvious at all, was also wieghed and has lost 44g since the 1st of July (his last feed was the 27th June) |

very good point lee, i will check today. I hadnt really thought because he let go very carefully and gently, but still, I will check and let you know. |

Going on what you have descibed it might be worth checking his mouth if he had a problem letting go of the last mouse,he might of lost some teeth and got a infection (mouth rot) Dont get panicking im only guessing here. |

To be honest, because I didnt see what happened with the feeding incedent I cant say exactly what I would do. Remember that hes only missed 4 feeds, so use your jusgement. If hes not interested, it perfectly fine to give him a fortnight off feeding and try after, if he is interetsed but doesnt strike give him something smaller or scented.
I have a 4ft corn that is 450g, now thats a problem  |

ok, he's one large mice atm, only had to give him a medium that day because that was all I had, so should I take him back down to mediums? he's a pretty big snake... |

If he ate it afterwards I doubt that thats the problem, but it may be worth offering a mouse 1 size smaller than what hes currently on. |
