Lilith seems quite settled in her 'new'accommodation now.She readily goes into her 'Neapolitan nest box'and will burrow under the moss and into the vermiculite.Bit concerned about how long to leave it all in there? don't want to risk breathing problems. The rest of her viv.has lignocel substrate and she has another hide which she ignores.
She actually seems a much more chillaxed snake now-she will bimble about quite a bit instead of just finding an angry place and staying in it
Sunny is just always looking for the next meal!!
I have also been contacted by someone that bought a snake from the same breeder I got Lilith from, and guess what?they had an unplanned clutch on a girl too young too

It really does sound as though this breeder needs reporting, it's ludicrous what he's doing . Maybe it's worth a call to the RSPCA? I totally agree with everything Smartbunny has said, from how this came about to the fact that hopefully Lilith should be ok. She is healthy and I know you'll be keeping a very close eye on her, so if there are any issues you'll respond immediately. Often it's the delay in doing something that causes the major problems.

I know you'll be staying positive and will help Lilith get through this .

Aaaaaawwwww don't think like that mj, I'm sure she will be ABSOLUTELY FINE xxx For all the horror stories we hear I am sure there are plenty of other young snakes out there who have got through the process no problem. You only ever hear about the bad stories ;)

If it's any consolation there is a poster 'elsewhere' who insists the age/size thing is a myth, and that condition of the snake and good husbandry is all that matters. Now although I wouldn't fly in the face of so much info, and would never intentionally breed my snakes before they meet the 'advised' requirements, I know he claims to have bred corns at young ages with no detrimental effects.

Not sure if this is making sense, or if it just sounds like I am totally contradicting myself and my earlier posts lol, but just trying to point out that there are different views on this sort of thing, and I know it's not what you would have chosen for Lilith, but hopefully she will deal with her 'predicament' in stunning fashion :)

I think Smarty buns is right-when I contacted the breeder I was told that the only male kept with them was a yearling-so I'm guessing they were still together as they hadn't sold yet.If I end up losing little Lilith I've got a mind to post her back up to the breeders and ask for a refund
Oh and I'll use second class parcel post in an ordinary brown envelope

There has been so many stories recently with bad breeders/keepers/pet shops. I pretty much end up in tears with all the horror stories. Why dont people ever learn :/

Probably because they were expecting to get rid of the hatchies sooner, and hadn't banked on keeping them for a prolonged period of time (which you should ALWAYS consider having to do when you breed any animal), so didn't really have the space for so many? Just a guess obviously, but absolutely unacceptable for them to be doing this, what idiots! Probably of the same mentality as someone else who once said to me with regards to a different snake I was talking about 'well it's no big deal, if they lay eggs and you don't want them, just freeze them'... Yeah right, no consideration for the poor female snake who has to produce the eggs, which takes a lot out of them and can cause stunted growth if they are not ready, plus may die or need medical intervention during the laying process!!

Which would be bad enough if they weren't selling a gravid animal without advertising it as such. I really don't get what they're getting from this; why put any female, let-alone one that's too young to breed, in with a male if you have no intention of keeping it long enough for it to so much as lay. Just weird.

Love to hear they are both sounding well. Even if one is a hunger monster hehe :P
For gods sake, this was bad enough with you but now multiple people, this breeder needs a talking to! And if need be, stopped! This is ridiculous.
