I wouldn't advise it, they aren't specifically egg eaters and it wouldn't be a suitable staple. They do eat chicks though. Like chicks, I don't see the harm in trying but I wouldn't make it a regular thing, maybe the odd treat. If they even take it that is.
Be warned of what comes out the other end though. ;)
And that hoggy video, the egg is boiled, surely that might cause a problem? Maybe because it's a hog it would've bit anything you put it near it, it went for the camera a few times! It didn't swallow any of the egg. |

Posted - 30/06/2013 : 20:28:55 I watched that video thanks and found another, 'corn eats dove eggs'. The corn takes three and they seem to pop as they go down as far as I can see. Interesting. |

Posted - 30/06/2013 : 19:58:16 I think that the egg has to be fertile to attract them, but I could be wrong. Would be interesting to see how they get on. An egg eating snake bursts the egg and regurgitates the shell, a corn would just digest the whole lot.
On a side note check out this hog nose eating an egg.

Posted - 29/06/2013 : 23:02:18 I don't know how they would handle an egg, egg eating snakes (which I find amazing) have some sharp protrusions in their necks to burst the egg as it goes down but corns obviously don't. |

Posted - 29/06/2013 : 22:25:55 I've seen videos of corns eating dove eggs. Not sure mine would recognise it as food... |
