Lilly the new corn snake ate yesterday for the 3rd time being with me first meal she pooed 2nd feed i didnt see no poo no where but fed her anyway (was told it wouldnt hurt shes just holding onto it) but anyway today i got something out her faun that i thought was her doings but i dont think it was im unsure wether its a regurge it looked too small to be a pinkie but very unsure.

This is first potential regurge ive had to deal with there isnt anything wrong is there? her temps are fine

I missed this thread first time round Luke, but I'm so glad that Lily is ok. I do agree with what the others have said, that what you found was probably a poo. I've dealt with a number of regurges and there is no doubt about what they are, mainly because of the smell . Also, the fact it was black indicates its probably been digested and expelled, all the regurges I've had have been 'mouse/flesh' coloured. I know it's a worry though, thinking it might be that....so it's great that she's eaten and has kept it down .

Think you need to update your sig....poor Lily is being left out .

Xxx

Well after phoning a vet to get an opinion he told me to leave Lilly alone for a few days and to feed her Sunday and if she regurges again leave her for 10-14 days if she does it again after that get her straight to the vets but anyway fed her Sunday and she kept it down and left me a nice big poo to wake upto this morning so glad she's back to her normal self! :)

Black blob sounds more like poo than regurge. Maybe slightly constipated but nothing to get too worried about, as long as she's her usual self in all other ways
I'd give her a week to ten days for her stomach to settle then feed her as normal.

It doesn't sound like a regurge if there's no smell.
Poo isn't always the brown colour that we might expect. Sometimes it can be rather pale and I wonder if that's what you found. It can look a bit like it might be a half digested mouse.
I'd leave your snake for 10 days to fully recover, in case it was a regurge, and then feed as normal after that. I'm sure things will be fine.

Just really worried never had a regurge before it could be just a one off?
LukeW Posted - 07/05/2013 : 18:46:17
Cant smell anything :s

You will be able to tell if it is a regurge or not by the smell. If it smells like death in a small package and burns the inside of your nostrils then it's a regurge if it smells like poo then it's poo
