just noticed that sid has a raised scale on his head, which i found strange, then i checked him over and there are some raised scales on his body, as if he is beginning to peel like we would after sun burn, but he isnt in shed, and it is localised to only a number of scales across his back?? I have attached images for you to see, can anyone help! :(

His head..

His Back..(3-4 raised translucent scales?

His head from the back..

You may be in for competition

All joking aside Bob, really hope Sid is better soon

Now why would you think I was referring to myself Foxtrotsierra ??!!

I do echo what you said next though....I hope Sid is ok, Bob. Please let us know if this is resolved when he next sheds.

I do hope that Sid's scale situation is sorted when he sheds Bob.

Not quite there yet, but I have a hardback note book and a feeding calendar in the kitchen! My girl is a known regurger, something that the breeder omitted to tell me until I had her home. Fingers crossed, we haven't had one, just one refusal which with the support of some fantastic members, I can take in my stride now.

When the post it pad appears in the loo - I shall be photographing it! One hard back note book is more than enough for one snake I think

Glad to hear that your snake is on the road to recovery.
We all want the best for each of our own and others snakes so always happy to share information.

The "most annoying" is not something that I am appertaining to be, I promise! It is just that everybody has so much knowledge, and is so generous with it I am soaking it all up like the proverbial sponge. I even have notes made for things that might crop up when I am not online. Yes, I am that sad!

My little girl wasn't in that great shape when I got her but with reading the stickies, and some real help we have got her on a really good feeding schedule already and she is in in double figures just shy of a month. I shall aim for being the "most educated in the shortest space of time" title instead of "most annoying" instead then

can happen to any snake ;)
Foxtrotsierra Posted - 30/03/2013 : 10:42:10
Apologies for hijacking the thread - can it be the same for snows too? She has a couple of hers sticking up (not to the same degree as she is only tiny) and I was hoping that was what it was.

Curse you Graeme, you bombed my post!

As I was saying, I've seen this 'sunburn peeling' once before with my Amel. It is about to shed. It just isn't showing the blue (pink in the case of Amels) stage.

gmac Posted - 30/03/2013 : 10:21:28
nothing to worry about, is likely just caught them on something is all, next shed will sort it.
