Twilight did some similar damage to his head one time and as others have said, it took quite a few sheds before it righted itself. Also, his sheds had always been clean but with the damage I had lots of bitty ones as the scab interfered with it. There were lots of times using damp towels etc to get stuck bits off. He's back to normal now though and back to the clean shedding.

Chicks dig scars so he'll be fine, and will do well as an adult.

Panic over guys! Had him out earlier and it's healed alot already, I've no idea what it was it looked like a scab, hard to get a photo when he is more interested in getting up my sleeve! And yes he is a butter and his name is Clark...the corn snake

Ember had a little spot like this on her head when she was younger. It seemed to heal up, then it got bad again and actually bled one time when she shed and the shed kind of pulled off the damaged scale, I was really worried at this point, but fortunately after that time it then healed up fine and after 2-3 sheds it was gone. I was stumped as there was nothing I could find in her faun which could have done it - but I eventually realised that there were a couple of sharp corners at the catch for the faun lid so I think she must have done it there - she's certainly not had a problem since I moved her into her viv :)

8 had a mark like that a few months ago, he shed it out although it took maybe 3 or 4 shed's before it was completely gone

Looks like he's squeezed under something and caught his head. Kali does that a lot, except it is normally her neck rather than her head. It'll take a few sheds to heal properly

Ah, sorry, just read your other thread. I think sometimes it might take several sheds to get rid of a scab.

Could he have hurt or burned himself? Looks strange, I haven't got a clue, what could it be, but I'd keep an eye on it, and see, if it changes in any way, and what happens after the next shed.

Beautiful snake, btw, is it a butter?
