Hey,
My 1 yr old corn snake i thought regurged his food however upon reading into this it was in fact vomiting as the mouse was partly digested and he did this 3 days after eating. Yesterday i had a look at my babies and the baby that is next to him (noth in seperate tubs) has done the same thing!! I have no idea what i now have on my hands and was wondering whether anyone can shed some light on this situation as when i thought it was just the one snake i thought it was just a coinsidence? |

I dont know how passive regurgitation could be, it involves contractions in both regurgitation and vomiting.
Officially regurgitation is done willingly/voluntarily by the animal, it will deliberately expel the contents of its stomach, vomiting is the process they have little control of but its of little or no importance really, it has the same result either way and the same process to follow afterwards.

Warm spots are 84ish dont know about the cold spots but the snakes that have had the issue have been quite fine untill this last time. Nothing about the set up has changed at all. I have turned the thermostat slightly higher just incase this helps. |

If you could post your hot and cold spot temps and the age/history of the snakes I'm sure we could all help more :) |

Do the snakes have a warm place where they can digest their food (and is there a hide there so they can sit there while feeling safe)? That's quite important.
On a side note, you can't really tell the difference between vomiting and regurgitating from how the food looks. The main difference between the two is that regurgitating is a passive process, while with vomiting, the animal actually contracts their abdominal muscles and such, starts heaving and then throws it out. Would be very hard to tell if you hadn't actually seen the snake return its food. |
