Posted - 03/08/2012 : 11:24:06 Hi everyone, I haven't posted much, been no need to as of yet, but I purchased a snow on the 17-7-12 her regime has been... 21-7-12 fed 26-7-12 fed 31-8-12 fed pooped inbetween all these dates and has been very active every eve/night since purchase, even in the day sometimes, temps are what they should be, as well as everything else, I monitor everything as these are my 1st snakes ( have 3) oh she/he has been handled too, obviously not when she'd eaten.. but since her/his last feed, she has just been hiding in her hide at the warm end, I did take a peek at the boxes yesterday, and noticed she had pooped, but as soon as she/he noticed me, she fled to her hide, she's not normally like that ? the only thing I can think of is that she may be going into blue ? I wanted to handled her/he last night, as it would of been ok (48 after feed). And I need to clean that poop up ! which is on the kitchen towel half that her hide is on lol. her age is 4 wks n 5 days, and hasn't shed with me yet, When I had her out for handling before her last feed, I was looking at her/he, and haven't noticed any difference in her eyes, but she is a snow .
Can she still be handled ? as the way she darted into her hide yesterday daytime, she may end not being happy, I dont know ? What do you peeps think ? Thankyou in advance Oh I refer to her as her/he as I dont know the sex yet lol, wish I did, as she needs a name too |

Yes I saw that post the other day, couldn't find it today though :/ she has cloudy eys, so shedding shouldn't be long now :) the lady I got the snakes off, wouldn't let them go until they had shed n pooped, shed, she's a very caring lady, and someone I trust, and that's a rare thing lol. Thx for the reply Chris :) |

Hello. Right to clear this up, you need a reason to to talk to us here. So saying uve had no need is no excuse to join in the chat an ramblings snake replated or not :-P so noe I shall be expecting more posts from you :-) .
Anyway back to subject hahaha. Yeah ya possibly right could well be a shed. Did u not get a record when u got him/her with shed an feeds on? As a guide a hatchling will shed every 4-6 weeks. Lift the hide an take a peek depending on the morph it may be obvious by the colour of body an eyes.
Regards handling depends on the snake, some don't mind being handled when there blue some detest it an will do there best to keep you away haha
Arh cheers :) I shall put more input in lol I'm always lurking about reading stuff :) I only had the feeding dates of the breeder but she did tell me that they had shed, she wouldn't of let them go, she worries a bit :)she's on my fb, her hubby is an old friend of my husbands, so I will go and ask her if she remembers the date roughly ? I'm just going to have to pick snow up and look at her eyes, she has to be changed anyway, I cant leave it lol. I've read snows shedding can be difficult to see, she must be going blue, as everything else has been spot on, I will post back here if she does shed, I really hope that's what it is And thankyou :) |
