Posted - 20/07/2012 : 17:38:36 Hi I just noticed this morning that I am able to clearly see my corn snake heart beating, and the area appears enlarged. As in the area is slightly wider the area next to it. I have contacted a vet and awaiting an appointment. But just wanted to know if any one had any advice. Thanks |

Posted - 21/07/2012 : 16:28:34 The swelling of the area has gone down in size today. She seen the vet today after the swelling had gone down. He did say that the heart areaappeared more pronounced but as it had already gone down and the snake seems fine. I am just to keep an eye on her and take her back if it gets worse again. Thank you for your advice. |

Posted - 20/07/2012 : 18:22:26 She is approx 14 months and a light amel motley. The reason it appears enlarged is the area directly around the heart is larger than the lung area. So therefore she widens at heart and then slims down a bit to again widen further down. She is handled often and this was only noticeable this morning. |

How old is your snake and what colour is it?
Also, what makes you think it looks enlarged? |

Posted - 20/07/2012 : 17:46:51 I can't take a video, but I have always been able to see her breathe. This seems to fast and regular a movement and it is in a very direct area. Thanks though. |

I can see all mine breath which I suppose you could think was their hearts beating, and they have one lung a lot bigger than the other so it would be along one side more than the other x
