Posted - 19/07/2012 : 22:06:10 thats o.k.. if you do force feed and it is a small hatchling i use a peice of rats tail, it goes down a lot easier |

Posted - 19/07/2012 : 21:56:50 a few of my other hatchlings refused to eat and i tried chick thighs with them (im sure it was you actually who suggested it to me) and i had success with them, but with the other nothing has seemed to work, i tried just the head of a pinkie, braining i tried chick thighs also removing all the feathes, so i may try force feeding i'll have to research up on that. Thanks for your help Kev |

Posted - 19/07/2012 : 18:00:14 trouble is you have a month to get a non-feeding hatchling eating, after that it gets weaker by the day. have you tried just a pinkie head or scenting the pinkie with a chick thigh. got one of mine eating by feeding the chick thigh itself. you can also try braining the pinkie (slicing the pinkies head). if none of these work the last option is force feeding which is not a nice thing to do (i'm actually doing it with 4 hatchlings at the moment). ideally you would need someone with experience to show you how to do this. remember if you did decide to do this remember you could be doing it for a few weeks or even a few months. all said and done though some hatchlings are not destined to survive |
