Posted - 17/07/2012 : 16:18:07 feeding day the other day, I picked up Sandy's small tub (shes only a bubbah) and while carrying the box I stumbled and dropped it! The tub flipped upside down and the ceramic bowl landed edge-first on her body.
That part of her body is dented and reddish, below that she has very little movement and her body is limp (she has feeling as she responds to touch) Her tail moves as normal. Personally I believe her spine is crushed :( I have an exotic vet appointment on fri - is there anything I can do? Any chance she will recover? Or at least survive with good quality of life? any advice or experiance? :( poor girl |

Posted - 24/07/2012 : 20:51:00 how bad is the kink? So long as there isnt damage to the spinal cord she should be ok to eat normally, maybe a size smaller. she will need the food to help repair herself, legs arent really gonna do anything at all. glad shes on the mend though, they are resilient little creatures. |

Posted - 22/07/2012 : 18:58:26 ill have to be careful feeding for now - as for long term we dont know yet. Today her lower body seemed a little less floppy and she has moved the whole lower body independantly but her middle area is stiff. fingers crossed! must say its amazing how tough they are! today she ate a fuzzy leg. just need to see of she can get it through |

Posted - 21/07/2012 : 22:51:17 So glad she is ok xx, with feeding will you just have to be careful just now, or long term, feeding more smaller mice than one bigger size? |

Posted - 21/07/2012 : 16:57:10 the x-ray showed that the spine has like popped outward but is starting to show signs of healing. She pooed as well but I need to be careful when feeding. I hope she will recover - still touch and go |

Posted - 21/07/2012 : 00:44:06 that's sounding hopeful- did you take her to the vet in the end? (I was just wondering if they'd be able to x-ray and clarify what if any damage is there?) fingers xx for a speedy full recovery |

Posted - 21/07/2012 : 00:36:36 well, her lower body is still limp, but there is movement now. I touched her tail tip and her whole lower body responded as usual. The redness has gone but she has a bad kink. It looks like the spine was popped out of place but is healing! Still touch and go and a very very long process but she has some chance. She will never breed though |
