Posted - 25/06/2012 : 23:11:16 Yesterday was at my neice inlaws first holy camunion and one of the guests was talking to my OH about how she had a corn snake. My oh called me over and she asked me if i wanted her snakie. She had him/her for a couple of years ago. Any way i said yeah ill come get her today. Well glad i did. The water bowl was bone dry and had so much dust and poo in there it must have been months since she last drunk. Then the poo and old sheds in the viv must have been 2 full sheds and at least 2 broken up into bits sheds. No hide, no heat mat, no stat, just a lamp holder with a blown bulb in, with no heat guard. She looks like she hasnt eaten in months either. well i emptyed her viv got my oh to hold her. I say her coz she got a long tail. srubbed her water bowl, hovered her viv with my henry to make sure i got all the old wood chip out. Stuck in a heat mat on a pulse stat that was for when i got my royals but hay ho. Got out a spare hide and put some spare branches and ivy in there. She has been drink for about half an hour. Now and then lifted her head and went bk to drink. U can see a water line thats about 10mm above where the water now is. And thats in the large exo terra bowl. Ill let her settle in then ill give her a feed and get some pics. Shes an amel but with weird markings. |

Posted - 26/06/2012 : 16:45:09 What a great new begining for this snake, it is so frustrating when people become bored of an animal they should care for and just give up. Look forward to seeing some pictures of a happy and healthy snake once settled in. |

Posted - 26/06/2012 : 11:37:36 Poor poor snakey, probably wouldn't have lasted much longer! Like Auld Baldy says, at least in the wild she could have found water! So glad you took her in and she's safe now :)
*Drums fingers awaiting pics of these 'weird markings'* lol |
