Hi,
I posted last Sunday explaining how Linguini lurched out of the viv in order to rip the Pink out of the feeding tongs, much to my shock, (it being my first time feeding a snake). I was concerned that he was very hungry and Site members were full of good advice but requested his vital statistics ... so here they are - as best as i was able to measure!
DOB - September 2011 (7 months old)
Length - approx. 35 cm
Weight : tricky. My scales start at 50g and he doesnt weigh as much as that. So something around 25g, and that's generous. The needle on the scale barely moved.
Feeding history : according to the chart provided by P@H - Excellent
He has taken 1 Pink every Sunday for the last month. ( was brought to the shop on the 18th March)
He seems happy enough, we handled him for the first time yesterday for a minute or two and this evening for a little longer- not so keen on being taken out of the viv but reasonably content to be outside it. Very wriggly though and can move like lightening!
So what's the verdict ?

my 9 month old snow is on 2 fluffs (the ones that have just about got fur on them about and inch or so in length)...as long as there is a noticeable lump in the tummy after eating that's a good sign for the size food. |

Like lotabob says, you can tell by the shape of him.
If you were to imagine taking a cross section of the snake what shape is he?
If he has a ridge down his back he is underweight
if where his body meets his belly is very round then he is a fatty lol |

There is no such thing as underweight, they are either skinny, normal or fat according to how long they are this will effect the weight.
Its all about the body shape.
Triangular = Skinny
Slice of bread = Normal
Round = Overweight
Lumpy = Fatty |

I would try feeding 2 pinkies on you next feed, he looks big enough to handle it but an accurate weight would be useful. |

snakes all grow at different rates.. and at their own rates. You would be better with digital scales rather than the needle scales as they are much more accurate xx |
