Posted - 08/04/2012 : 22:31:01 I have a corn snake who is approx 4 1/2 who has not eaten for the last eight weeks. I'm assuming it's because of his age and it being mating season. What I'm wondering is, should he maintain his weight, or is it ok that he has lost a little. He was 328g is now 312g, he is very active and is drinking (actually saw him drinking for the first time a few weeks ago - very cool ) Thanks in advance Lisa |

Posted - 12/04/2012 : 10:06:05 Thank you, he is super active, and looks great, I didn't think it was anything to worry about, just wanted to be sure, he's my first snake and I've only had him about 6 months, so needed the reassurance
Thanks again |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 12:03:29 my naughty boy hasn't eaten for 8 weeks either- he's 3 ft CB2oo8., and has lost 23g in those 8 weeks, still active and randy as hell, tho. I wouldn't worry about 12g, when he starts eating again he'll regain it quite quickly- before mine went on hunger strike he'd put on about 20g in a little over a month; they can gain/lose quite a bit without any detrimental effects when they're this age/size. |
