my snake sheds perfectly except for the tip of his tail which i can't get off... i have been told to but him in a tub of warm water and leave him for 20 mins or so which should loosen the skin so i can get it off... i am just wondering how warn the water should be ... can it be warm water from the tap or does it need to be a certain temp ?

The water should be about 25c - 28c. Just keep an eye on him while he's in the tub, and afterwards let him slide through an old towel to remove the skin.
